Kelly Jessiman comes from a fine art sculpture background and enjoys bringing shapes and colour into the home. Her ceramics are hand built from the family dinner table. The glazing and firing happens in the back garden shack.
Kelly’s inspiration comes from near and far, lately looking into the works of Matisse and recreating the ceramics in his paintings.
Playing with juxtaposition of neatly made traditional shapes but crudely made by her hands with organic imperfections, they’re usually glazed with unsuspecting colours. Kelly enjoys the process of pottery and the sometimes unpredictable outcomes it presents.
