Linda Lencovic

Linda Lencovic is a Canadian and French artist living and working in the UK. In 2006 she completed an MA Fine Art in Painting at Chelsea College of Art & Design and has exhibited internationally with work in collections both in the UK and abroad.

Career highlights include showing work at the Tate Modern, Whitechapel Gallery and Freud Museum in London, and exhibiting in a group show at the renowned Garboushian Gallery in Los Angeles.

Lencovic’s work explores identity, race and cultural belonging and she works in a variety of disciplines.

“With clay I find myself caught up in how the material reacts in the various stages and processes that are required for a finished piece; The wild unpredictability of the medium and motions of my hands, tools and brushes captured and frozen in time by fire. I take great pleasure in the volatility of ceramics and how the alchemy of the kiln produces seemingly magic results from fleeting actions.”
